Message from the Headteacher
At Nevill Road Junior School we are a TEAM….Together Everyone Achieves More. Due to the special relationships that we develop between children and families, the school has a unique quality where individuality is respected and celebrated.
At Nevill Road we are in the position that there are two head teachers who are equally committed to providing the best educational and personal and social experience for your child. Our INSPIRE and ASPIRE curriculums are carefully aligned to build on each other and ensure children exciting and engaging topics.
We are striving to connect the schools so that there is not anything lost that you would get in a primary school but we have the bonus of a head who can concentrate on getting the beginning of the journey right and one who can focus on growing the children, building on foundations and ultimately preparing them for high school.
The transition from year 2 to year 3 is carefully managed and planned in such a way that disruption is minimised and the children, at an early stage in their school career have the resilience to cope with change, something which makes the transition to high school seem less daunting. Our joint commitment to several policies ensures there is progression year on year and there are no sudden changes.
At the Juniors, We are extremely proud of the PE and Sports awards that we have won this year and for the recent 'good' Ofsted report which highlights the many strengths of the school. Our KS2 SATs results and progress scores have also increased significantly, particularly in reading and the combined percentage of children achieveing in reading, writing and maths.
We also view children's wellbeing as a priority which is highlghited through our Restorative Approach. As a showcase school for Stockport, we work closely with the other schools in the Bramhall cluster to develop restorative practice and host joint events.
It is an absolute pleasure to lead this exciting and creative school. Tours are welcomed throughout the year and we encourage new Reception parents to visit the Juniors as well as the Infants, in order to experience the complete learning journey from Reception to Year 6.
